Looking after a fresh bodykit: first 30 days

Paint and adhesive both need time to cure. Here's how to keep your new aero kit looking factory in the first 30 days.

Days 1–3

  • No washing.
  • No driving in heavy rain if avoidable.
  • No automatic car washes — ever, but especially not now.

Days 4–14

  • Hand wash only with PH-neutral shampoo.
  • No pressure washer within 30cm of any panel join or adhesive line.
  • No wax, sealant or ceramic coat yet — paint is still off-gassing.

Days 14–30

  • Normal hand washing fine.
  • Light polish OK if needed.
  • Wax / sealant / ceramic from day 30 onwards.

Cambridge weather note

Salt on the A14 and country lanes through winter is brutal on fresh paint. If you've had a kit fitted Oct-March, rinse the front lip and skirts off after every long drive — don't let salt sit overnight.
